Eve Mumford headlines Speakin’ Weird at Gaelic Lane Cafe on 9 November. She won the 2025 Howl Poetry Slam and came second at the 2026 National Slam Championships. It’s a monthly spoken word open mic hosted by Hannah, Esmond and Aron, with five-minute slots to sign up for on the night.

Edinburgh four-piece Fright Years play The Tunnels on 14 November, mixing 90s alt-rock, 80s post-punk and modern indie. Think Wolf Alice, Simple Minds and The Killers. Kelly’s vocal swings from raw and intimate to big and anthemic, so if Florence + The Machine does it for you, this one’s worth a look.

The Tivoli Theatre has installed a platform lift running from Guild Street up to the Stalls, the first visitor lift in its 154 years. It’s a big step for accessibility, and part of the ongoing renovation that’s modernising the Category A listed building for today’s audiences.
